The Day Care Center has two top quality programs.
The Preschool Program
The Center provides a full-day program for three- and four-year olds. There are three classrooms with a total enrollment of 45 children. The Center maintains a 5-1 child/staff ratio. Our program offers a well-balanced learning environment where children are encouraged to explore through structured and child-initiated activities including:
Literacy: Alphabet, Writing Centers, Books, Poems and Songs. Science: Sensory Table, Science, Math, Cooking and Nature. Creative Expression: Art, Dramatic Play, Music and Movement. Physical: Gross Motor and Fine Motor opportunities.
As a participating member of the Connecticut Child Food Program the preschool provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks daily.
The School-Age Program
The School-Age program provides a safe and fun environment for children grades K-6th.
Our program operates Monday-Friday, from public school dismissal time until 5:30pm. A full day program operating from 7:30am-5:30pm is available during school vacation weeks and designated holidays. For the summer months, a full day Center-based program is offered. The school-age program provides afternoon snacks daily with menus posted for our parent's convenience.
Children can select many of their own activities including Arts and Crafts, Science and Nature, Dramatic Play, Pet Club, Organized Group Games, Outdoor Playtime, Gardening, Cooking Club, Science Club, Music and Movement, Community Outreach Activities, Homework Club (during school year) and Swimming (in summer). The Afterschool Program offers children the opportunity to participate in our Student Council. The council provides children with hands on leadership roles, team building activities as well as involvement in their community. The Afterschool Program created a Video News Program "Day Care News21" for their families that the children film and produce monthly.
